Gracias al acierto fotográfico del forista Pablogj, se constata del refit que está llevando a cabo ASMAR Talcahuano a las Lanchas Misileras SAAR IV de la Armada de Chile.
Según Jane´s: the Chilean Navy's ASMAR shipyards at Talcahuano have completed the refitting and upgrading of one of its three 450-ton Casma (Saar 4)-class missile patrol boats, delivering it back into service in mid-July.
IHS Jane's understands that the refit includes new engines, electrical systems, and the integration of an Exocet MM40 Mk 2 quad missile launcher. This increases its missile armament, which previously consisted of four Gabriel Mk 2 missiles.
The addition of Exocet missiles and a change of paint scheme indicates that the boat will likely be deployed to the Northern Missile Boat Command based out of Iquique, instead of its previous commission at the Southern Missile Boat Command.
