ACh Adquiere al TCD Foudre

Según la revista especializada en Defensa, Jane's, el gobierno de Chile ha finalizado las negociaciones para adquirir al Transport de Chalands de Débarquement (TCD) "Foudre" para reemplazar a la LST "Valdivia".

Chile to buy French LSD vessel

The Chilean government has finalised negotiations with France to procure the landing ships dock (LSD)-type vessel Foudre to replace a Newport-class ship that Chile retired in 2010.  

Chile is expected to pay around USD80 million for the amphibious vessel, which the French Navy no longer needs and is set to decommission in April 2012.
