DEU Australia: Trade Mission to Chile

Trade Mission to Chile – 1 to 6 April 2013

In association with LAAD, the Defence Export Unit is planning a follow on trade mission to Chile and Colombia. In March 2012 the DEU conducted its first exploratory trade mission to Chile establishing strong business and military contacts, particularly with the Chilean Navy and Air Force.
The 2013 mission will be led by one of Defence Export Unit’s Two Star military specialists and will consist of familiarisation and follow-up visits and meetings with the military and state owned defence organisations in Chile. Companies travelling to the region for the first time will benefit from the knowledge gained and the opportunities identified during the recent mission to Chile (March 2012).
The opportunities identified are part of the Chilean military modernisation program and include electronic warfare systems and subsystems, simulation and training, ground support equipment, fighter aircraft, surveillance systems and electronic security systems. They also include detection devices, command and control intelligence systems, single channel ground  and airborne radio systems, vehicle dual long-range radio systems, reporting system radio transmitters, force operations systems air and missile defense workstations, spare parts and other related equipment and support.
